In-Home Lifestyle Family Photo and Video Session in Sherwood Oregon
As a Sherwood Oregon family photographer and videographer, I love capturing families in the spaces where their lives truly unfold—their homes. Shooting in-home sessions allows me to document genuine moments where families spend the most time and create countless memories. One of my favorite sessions was with a family in their beautiful 100-year-old house, a space full of charm and history that perfectly reflected their personalities.
After we confirmed the session date, I sent the family a questionnaire to get to know them better: what the kids love to do with mom and dad, what a typical weekend looks like, and other questions to understand their family and lifestyle. Their answers guided the session—chess games, music, and building forts in the playroom were activities I made sure to capture.
On the session day, after we chatted for a little while, the kids excitedly showed me their playroom and immediately started playing, giving me the perfect opportunity to begin capturing their natural moments. Once we finished inside, we moved outdoors, letting the kids play freely while I captured their laughter, curiosity, and natural interactions. These moments feel so authentic and bring a sense of joy and spontaneity.

We communicate in advance and plan the day carefully, and during the session, if you’re ever unsure what to do, just focus on connecting with your kids. Whenever you see a chance, snuggle with them, tell them what you’re proud of them for, and how much you love them. Those quiet, connected moments are always the most meaningful.
